VUB Hosts Final Round of X2O Badkamers Trofee Once Again

Elite Men and Women Shine in the Memorial Paul De Knop and Memorial Caroline Pauwels

On Sunday, February 18, the VUB Main Campus and the ULB Campus de la Plaine will, for the sixth consecutive year, be transformed into a cyclocross course for the Soudal Brussels Universities Cyclocross, the final round of the X2O Badkamers Trofee. The elite men’s and women’s races were renamed last year to the Memorial Paul De Knop and the Memorial Caroline Pauwels, in memory of the late honorary rectors who were both strong advocates for cyclocross on the campus.

This year, the top male and female cyclocross riders will once again battle it out between the lecture halls and the greenery of the university grounds for a place on the podium. The Memorial Paul De Knop and Caroline Pauwels races will be preceded by competitions for Junior Men and U23 Men.

Tickets for the event cost €15 in presale and €17 on the day of the event. Presale tickets are available on the Brussels Universities Cyclocross website. Children under 12 years old can enter for free. Additionally, VUB members (students, staff, and alumni) can obtain free tickets by registering and checking in on the day of the event at the U-Residence on the VUB Main Campus (note: limited tickets available). Press representatives wishing to attend must apply for accreditation.

Those unable to attend in person can follow the Elite Women’s race (starting at 1:45 PM) and the Elite Men’s race (3:00 PM) live on Sporza or Sporza.be.

Researchers at VIB and VUB have developed a powerful new way to study how the immune system behaves inside lung tumors. About Press - Vrije Universiteit Brussel

Vrije Universiteit Brussel is an internationally oriented university in Brussels, the heart of Europe. By providing excellent research and education on a human scale, VUB wants to make an active and committed contribution to a better society.

The World Needs You

The Vrije Universiteit Brussel assumes its scientific and social responsibility with love and decisiveness. That’s why VUB launched the platform De Wereld Heeft Je Nodig – The World Needs You, which brings together ideas, actions and projects based on six Ps. The first P stands for People, because that’s what it’s all about: giving people equal opportunities, prosperity, welfare, respect. Peace is about fighting injustice, big and small, in the world. Prosperity combats poverty and inequality. Planet stands for actions on biodiversity, climate, air quality, animal rights... With Partnership, VUB is looking for joint actions to make the world a better place. The sixth and last P is for Poincaré, the French philosopher Henri Poincaré, from whom VUB derives its motto that thinking should submit to nothing except the facts themselves. VUB is an ‘urban engaged university’, strongly anchored in Brussels and Europe and working according to the principles of free research.
