Statement regarding VUB rector Caroline Pauwels’ health

Monday, June 24, 2019 — The rectorate office of the VUB at the request of Rector Caroline Pauwels, states that she has been diagnosed with stomach and esophocal cancer. During her intensive treatment, Vice-Rector Prof. Romain Meeusen and the other Vice-Rectors will temporarily assist her in her tasks. The rector asks her that her privacy and that of her family be respected during this difficult time.
