EUTOPIA receives new funding from European Commission
With this ambitious European partnership, 10 universities – including VUB – are further focusing on cross-border research, education and innovation
Newly elected VUB rector Jan Danckaert: “I am particularly delighted that the EUTOPIA alliance’s project of 10 universities has been selected for the second phase of one of the most profound changes to the higher education landscape in Europe. With this European support, the 10 European partner universities, including VUB, will have the opportunity to anchor the EUTOPIA project and contribute to the reform of higher education in Europe. It’s an important challenge in which our university plays a pioneering role and which will benefit our students, researchers and society at large.”
The European Commission’s European Universities Initiative aims to create a European Higher Education Area in which universities work together on education, research and innovation. In 2019, EUTOPIA was among the first 17 alliances to be awarded Erasmus+ funding for the pilot phase of the initiative.
