Academic opening VUB: 28 September, 15.00
RETHINK! REUSE! REJOICE!
Rector Caroline Pauwels will make things very clear in her speech. She wants to seize the momentum to change the university and society. We must all courageously tackle the many problems – climate, privacy, inequality, racism, fake news, cancel culture, attacks on science – and we must do it together. It can’t wait.
VUB is an urban engaged university. It belongs to young people. So at the academic opening, VUB wants to hear about what they think should be remembered. We don’t throw away the past, because much of it is very good: REuse.
With Caroline Pauwels, we are looking forward to an academic year characterised by renewed optimism, with REthink, REuse, REjoice as an energetic incentive to face the future with an open mind.
