VUB’s PG SPORT course has been named in 36th place in the 12th edition of SportBusiness’ Postgraduate Ranking. This is the magazine’s ranking of the world’s best postgraduate sports management courses.

SportBusiness works with sports organisations around the world to grow their business and has won the trust of a range of industry stakeholders over the past 25 years, including teams, events, sponsors, television channels, agencies, financial institutions and universities. Its Postgraduate Ranking is based on two surveys completed by lecturers and alumni who graduated three years before publication. Each programme is then given a score from 0 to 100 based on a weighted average of the results from the two surveys. This means that the 2023 ranking is based on the answers of those who graduated in 2020. As a result of limits imposed by the pandemic, this was an exceptional year. Nevertheless, VUB has been scoring highly in the report for several years and is very pleased with 36th place.

“We are proud that our postgrad course has received international recognition,” says programme director Jos Verschueren. “This confirms the position of PG SPORT as a leading programme at international level. We are working continuously to optimise this programme.”

PG SPORT was established in 2002 and is aimed at recent bachelor’s and master’s graduates in the Low Countries who have an interest in the sports industry and a passion for sport. It is a full-time, year-long course that combines commercial and economic knowledge with an understanding of sport and active leisure. More information about the programme can be found here.
